When we see our own beauty and our uniqueness, we are are then able to truly see and celebrate others. I've seen that happen in my own life.  This little photoshoot became a celebration of humanity, quite by accident!

I stumbled upon West End Select Shop, a well-curated, modern boutique on a recent trip to Portland and discovered a silk maxi dress by Humanoid, a label from the Netherlands that espouses "effortless, feminine and cosmopolite design."  It's everything a maxi dress should be: comfortable and feminine!

Turn the the dress around, undo a little button on the side, and it opens up and becomes a dramatic top!

The photo shoot took place at Harmony Walk along Buffalo Bayou. The seven statues, composed of letters and symbols from many languages, celebrate Houston's cultural diversity.  (Read more about them here and here.) The world has come to our city, and that is what I love most about it!
